What is the advisor’s responsibility?
The advisor will assist the student with course selection, and offer suggestions about the specific days and times choices that must be considered when constructing a schedule. Advisors should ask about work and family obligations, so that the week’s schedule reflects the time and energy a student expends on a daily basis. A student may ask the advisor for suggestions about time management in order to study more effectively. Eventually, an advisor may complete for the student an educational plan that maps out the sequence of course selection for the years spent at the college.
