CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

With special emphasis on vocational/technical training, this course is an investigation of Malcom Knowles' theory of education and is one part of a three-part series devoted to the learning techniques of adult students. It will focus on ways they process information, retain, and utilize new concepts and strategies. Specific techniques will be employed that identify theories associated with cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains of learning. General theories and concepts of education will be presented, with an emphasis placed on the allied health professions. There is a computer-based component to this course and students will need access to a computer and e-mail. Prerequisite: Current certification as an EMS provider.
