CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course presents the methods of instruction, such as lecture, group process, scenario presentation, that may be utilized in the classroom as well as in the laboratory/clinical setting. Curriculum development, lesson plans, measurable objectives and the use of various tools and resources will be developed and practiced. Methods of instruction, student motivation, elements of reliability and validity will be presented in such a way as to develop effective teaching styles for all types of adult learners. This course will allow the participant to develop and practice specific teaching strategies. There is a computer-based component to this course and students will need access to a computer and e-mail. Corequisite: EMS* 101 and EMS* 103. Prerequisite: Current certification as an EMS provider.
