Connecting a Laptop PC
Centinel Hill Hall AuditoriumCentinel Hill Hall does not have a built-in Computer, so any computer applications must be presented from a Laptop Computer connected to the display system. After connecting the Crestron Control Panel, you may connect your Laptop.
In the lower compartment of the Lectern, you will find 3 cables bound together. Connect the necessary cables to your Laptop for monitor display, sound, and/or College network access*.*PLEASE NOTE: Only College owned computer equipment may be connected to the college network. Connecting your own laptop to the network without authorization is a violation of college policy. You may connect your laptop to the Presentation System for display, but if you wish to connect to the College computer network, you must have authorization from the College Information Technology Department (906-5252, Room 601).
From the main screen on the Control Panel, press the source button labeled PC (do not select Laptop, or you will get no image). You will then see the PC Control screen, and a message indicating "There are no Touch Screen controls for this device." Your presentation is now run directly from the Laptop PC. However, you can adjust the system Volume using controls along the left side of the touch-screen, but be sure that your Laptop volume is also turned up.PLEASE NOTE: some Laptop Computers require a specific keystroke, usually a Function Key, to "send" the monitor display image out through the connected cable. Check your Laptop operator's manual for details.
When you have finished, you may Shutdown the System and disconnect your Laptop PC. Please place the cables neatly within the Lectern.
