Women's Self-Defense Classes for women.

Women's Self-defense & Situational Awareness Training

What: FREE Women's self-defense & Situational Awareness Training. Open to all CCC students, staff, faculty & family.

When: SPRING 2015 - series of 3 hands-on classes (1 hour per day), on consecutive Thursdays; Mar. 5th, Mar. 12th & Mar. 19th, 2014 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm each day.

Where: Classes will be held in Centinel Hill Auditorium (11th floor) at Capital Community College.


Walk-ins are welcome. No pre-registration required for these classes.

Classes are designed to assist women avoid dangerous situations and provide *hands-on techniques for self-protection (*requires physical exertion). Current state laws on a person's right to self-defense will also be discussed. Participants completing the training series will receive a training certificate.

Classes are taught by CCC Public Safety staff. Joel White is a 7th degree black belt & certified martial arts instructor with 29 years of police experience; James Griffin is a certified police handcuff, OC spray & baton instructor with 35 years of police experience; Scott Dorio is a state certified EMT-B with 26 years of public safety experience.

Participants should wear workout type clothing & sneakers and bring water.
