Instructions

In each of the following sentences, a singular noun is italicized. Rewrite each sentence, putting that noun in a phrase beginning with the preposition of. You will have to add an -s to make the noun plural in its new prepositional phrase.

Example: I was sitting on the porch and admiring the oldest dogwood tree.
I was sitting on the porch and admiring the oldest of the dogwood trees.

1. One blossom fell from the tree.
    

2. Suddenly the wind increased and bent one clothesline down.
    

3. I watched anxiously for the last kid to come in for shelter.
    

4.I couldn't see either girl through the heavy rain that had started.
    

5. That was one storm we'll never forget.
