children's lives in the United States. From this site users may access
specific state pages which feature a large range of current data on
population and family characteristics, economic security and federal

E-MAIL DISCUSSION GROUPS
E-Mail Discussion Groups for people interested in parenting and early childhood education. Follow the instructions for subscriptions. Some Words of Caution: Lurk before you leap; read messages for a while before joining the discussion. And save the instructions for getting off the list (usually included in the first message you receive from the listserver)! Discussion groups can be vital and helpful, and they're a great way to "meet" people with like interests, but they can also be very busy and generate a lot of e-mail!

| It is possible that even the sites listed below (which are monitored by folks with all good intentions) may lead, in an indirect way, to subject matter that parents may consider inappropriate for their children. Computer hackers have also been known to substitute inappropriate material for an entire Web-site that would otherwise be perfectly suitable for children. It is for this reason that we strongly recommend constant parental supervision while children are using a computer that allows them access to the internet. We also recommend that parents and teachers remind children not to provide personal information about themselves to anyone on the internet. This includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, or passwords. We hope these resources provide much enjoyment, entertainment and wholesome learning for your children. |
