Degree Programs

Program review is conducted by all programs on a five-year cycle to meet the requirements of the Connecticut Community-Technical College System or external accrediting agencies. The assessment of student learning is a component of accreditation studies and program reviews.

Degree Programs Assessment Methods and Findings
1. A Program Goals Template has been created by the College Assessment Implementation Team for use in developing clearly articulated program goals and aligning them with course objectives. 2. Program Review is conducted in 5 year cycles, using criteria set by the Connecticut Community-Technical College System. Program Review Criteria

3. Accreditation Reports and Program Evaluation Materials: The assessment of student learning is a component of accreditation studies and program reviews. All program reviews for the last five years are in the library
4. The Social Services Degree Program piloted a NEASC-funded Transition Project with Central Connecticut State University.  The goal of this collaboration between Capital and CCSU is to enhance the level of preparedness of community college social services majors and create a seamless transition to the social work program at Central Connecticut State University.
